Common Ground is the uniting of two campus ministries which have served the La Crosse colleges for decades, Crossroads United Campus Ministry and Lutheran Campus Ministry. Believing that what we have in common is stronger than what divides us, we have joined together, as a visible expression of the unity of the Body of Christ and to have a greater impact in the lives of students.
Lutheran Campus Ministry
Lutheran Campus Ministry at Common Ground is a Christ-centered community in the Lutheran tradition (ELCA).
We believe that all people are created in God's image.
We are passionate about the radical hospitality that Jesus showed all people
We are committed to being a place of that same hospitality.
We welcome all people to our life and ministry together --
in worship, at the font, at the table, and in our life together
regardless of race, gender identities, sexual orientation
or any other category society uses to differentiate between people.
There is no longer Jew nor Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28
We are a ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and the La Crosse Area Synod.
We are a Reconciling in Christ ministry. Being RIC means that we are intentional in being a place of welcome and safety for lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, transgender, and questioning people.
United Campus Ministry of La Crosse, WI
Drawn together by the Holy Spirit, Crossroads United Campus Ministry is a diverse community of Christians united as one body joining faith with action through campus ministry. In covenant with the United Methodist, United Church of Christ, American Baptist, Episcopal, and Presbyterian Churches we serve God in co-creation of a hopeful and justice world as made manifest in Jesus Christ.
Dedicated to young adults, Crossroads continues it’s long standing ecumenical ministry on campus engaging students to do justice, seek peace, and transform lives through meaningful programming and relational ministries. No matter where you are on life’s journey you are welcome through Crossroads to explore faith, express doubt, strengthen convictions, and love God’s people.
