Hi, I'm Pastor Ben he/him/his

I serve as pastor here at LuMin, and as an adjunct professor of theology at Viterbo University.  I'm ordained in the Lutheran tradition (ELCA) and am passionate about serving alongside people of all backgrounds, and showing that the Gospel is more inclusive, reckless and wonderfully irresponsible than we could ever imagine.  When I'm not out and about doing pastor stuff you'll find me with my family (wife and two daughters), in the outdoors, canoeing, kayaking, climbing, backpacking, trail running, nordic skiing, fly fishing, hunting and really anything that is adventurous and goes well with a craft beer. I studied history at Central Michigan University where I also ran on the track team.  My seminary education was completed at Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, IA and I also spent a year studying at the Augustana Hochschule in Neuendettelsau, Germany. I'm is also a proud WFR (Wilderness First Responder) though hope to never have to use the skills.

Jen Jones - administrator she/hers

Say hi to Jen, she's new!  admin@luminlax.org

I am brand new to ministry at LuMin and help Pastor Ben do the office stuff so he can focus his time with our students! You can contact me for calendar needs, setting up appointments with Pastor Ben, scheduling him to preach in our synod's congregations.

I am a life-long Lutheran (except for the lutefisk part - yuk). I've worked in two churches, and been a member at three different congregations in my lifetime, all in the La Crosse Area Synod.

I'm passionate about Jesus, dogs, coffee, and sloths. (Really. I cried the first time I saw a sloth in person and am not the last bit ashamed to admit that.)
